A&B Electric (later, Atkins Electric) was founded in 1968 by Ron Atkins and his then-partner, James Burke. After Burke’s departure, Ron later became the company’s sole owner—a state of affairs that would last for more than two decades.

At the close of the millennium, Bryan Atkins—Ron’s son and an experienced journeyman with more than 10 years’ experience at A&B—joined the business as a manager and partner. In the decades that followed, the company expanded, serving the growing needs of general contractors and businesses powering Southwest Idaho’s economic expansion. The nearly 30-year partnership between father and son ended in 2019, when Ron sold his shares in the company and A&B Electric became Atkins Electric.

Today, Atkins Electric is a fully insured and bonded partner of Boise’s leading general contractors. Our reputation is anchored in our track record, with projects like the award-winning Chateau des Fleurs, the Dennis Dillon family of automotive dealerships, and an impressive variety of board and care facilities. With a team of professionally trained and experienced employees—all led by a master electrician and designer—Atkins offers top-notch installations at competitive prices.
